Travelers releases transcript of second-quarter 2026 results call

- The Travelers Companies’ Q2 2026 results call drew CEO Alan Schnitzer, CFO Dan Frey, and segment heads Greg Toczydlowski, Jeff Klenk, and Michael Klein.
- Core income was USD 2.2 billion, or USD 10.04 a share; the combined ratio was 83.6%, the underlying combined ratio was 84.1%; and after-tax net investment income was USD 883 million.
- The company returned over USD 1.5 billion to shareholders, including USD 1.3 billion in buybacks; adjusted book value per share was USD 168.20; and USD 3.9 billion of buyback authority remained.
- Business Insurance net written premiums were USD 6 billion; renewal premium change was 4.8%; retention was 86%; record new business was USD 805 million; and management flagged stable pricing outside National Property.
- In reinsurance, Travelers reset its program with a new USD 750 million CAT bond from USD 575 million, renewed Northeast Property CAT XOL, and dropped Personal Lines CAT XOL, citing improved corporate program efficiency.
