Trump administration weighs 500 million gallon boost to 2027 biofuel quotas to offset exemptions, sources say

Aug. 27 (Reuters) - The Trump administration is weighing a plan to add about 500 million gallons to the 2027 biofuel quotas to offset higher-than-expected exemptions for small refineries that are expected to be announced soon, according to two people familiar with the matter.

The addition would be part of a supplemental rule published in the months ahead, the source said, adding that no final decision has been made.
