1. Trump rejects reported offer
Trump said he had offered Iran nothing to end the war, rejecting media reports citing US officials that he was willing to ease sanctions and release frozen funds in exchange for concrete nuclear-related steps. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Tehran was ready to discuss its nuclear programme and other issues but would not accept “bullying or coercion.”
2. Talks and Strait proposal
US and Iranian officials spoke separately with mediators on Monday as part of renewed efforts to end the seven-month war. Iran says only diplomacy can resolve the conflict. Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said a proposed deal would start a seven-day countdown to reopening the Strait of Hormuz and pause regional fighting; Trump rejected the plan on Saturday.
3. Oil prices rise
Oil prices rose for a second session as concerns about Middle East supply outweighed signs of recovering regional crude exports. Brent futures gained 1.4% to $106.77 a barrel and US West Texas Intermediate rose 1.5% to $93.94.
