Trump drops threats against Canadian jet maker Bombardier, citing US jobs
Trump dropped threats to ban Bombardier from the US market and said he would protect its Kansas workers. Bombardier shares rose 4% Tuesday after his comments.
1. Threats withdrawn
Trump said he would help Bombardier and protect jobs in Kansas, where the company employs 1,500 workers in Wichita. He said he had learned the company had a presence in the state and that the US would not hurt it.
2. US workforce
Bombardier has 3,500 US jobs, more than 40% of them in Wichita. Last week, it announced a $50 million investment in Wichita and plans to open a facility in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
