Trump Threatens 100% Tariffs on Canadian Exports While Canada-China EV, Canola Deals Progress
President Trump threatened 100% tariffs on all Canadian exports to the US if Canada seals a trade deal with China, weighing on the export-driven equity market. On Jan. 16, Canada agreed to admit 49,000 Chinese electric vehicles at a 6.1% tariff and saw China cut canola seed oil duties from 85% to 15%.
