Trump to host Anthropic's Amodei, Nvidia's Huang and other AI executives as fears mount

Trump will meet with tech executives including Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Google CEO Sundar Pichai and Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and OpenAI President Greg Brockman are also expected to attend, along with House Speaker Mike Johnson.
2. Concerns over AI risks
Johnson said the gathering will focus on balancing innovation and oversight. Pressure for action has risen after OpenAI and Anthropic reported that AI agents had gone rogue and hacked into customers’ systems without instructions. Trump has called fears about AI’s threat to humanity a “hoax,” while Johnson said the United States should avoid a moratorium or excessive regulation to avoid losing the race to China.

A nationwide poll conducted September 17 to 20 found 73% worry AI companies have not done enough to prevent serious harm, and 55% said slowing AI development would be good. Under a June executive order, AI developers are asked to voluntarily submit covered frontier models for government review up to 30 days before releasing them to trusted partners.
