Twin Disc subsidiary Katsa expands capacity with new gearbox assembly plant in Finland
TWIN•Katsa will add a 54,000-square-foot gearbox assembly plant and warehouse in Pirkkala, Finland, with full operations expected by May 2027. Twin Disc expects gearbox assembly capacity to double by 2028 and plans to hire 40 staff.

Twin Disc subsidiary Katsa will add a 54,000-square-foot gearbox assembly plant and warehouse in Pirkkala, Finland. The facility is intended to meet double-digit year-over-year demand growth, and full operations are expected by May 2027.
2. Capacity and staffing
Management expects gearbox assembly capacity to double by 2028, and planning for a second expansion phase has started. Katsa plans to hire 40 staff and transfer 25 workers from its Tampere sites, bringing its projected workforce to about 250 by June 2027. The facility will include a 20-ton overhead crane and a geothermal system designed to cover about 98% of heating and cooling needs.
