Uber to invest $500M in Argentina, expands robotaxi network to 28 cities
Uber will invest $500 million in Argentina over the next three years following talks between Economy Minister Luis Caputo and CEO Dara Khosrowshahi. The company is expanding its autonomous ride-hailing network through an Nvidia partnership aiming for up to 28 cities and has launched Motional-powered robotaxis in Las Vegas.
1. Argentina Investment
Uber committed $500 million to Argentina over the next three years to expand ride-hailing services, enhance driver incentives and develop local payment solutions. The announcement followed a meeting between CEO Dara Khosrowshahi, Economy Minister Luis Caputo and country manager Eli Frias.
2. Nvidia Robotaxi Expansion
Uber and Nvidia have broadened their autonomous vehicle partnership to deploy self-driving ride-hailing services in up to 28 cities by 2028. The collaboration covers AV software integration, data infrastructure and vehicle testing to accelerate commercial launch.
3. Las Vegas Motional Launch
Uber launched Motional-powered robotaxis in Las Vegas using Hyundai Ioniq 5 vehicles, enabling app-based autonomous rides for airport and hotel routes. This marks the first public rollout under its expanded autonomous network strategy.
