The study found that while only 4% of job postings mention AI skills, 67.5% of employee upskilling efforts are dedicated to AI topics. In the technology sector specifically, 95% of worker learning focuses on AI, yet only 17.5% of the fastest-growing skills in tech job listings are AI-related. In manufacturing, 60% of employee learning centers on AI despite zero top job posting skills in the sector referencing AI. Conversely, in professional services, employers are increasingly seeking AI capabilities across all four markets, indicating uneven alignment between what workers learn and what companies hire for today.
