UK Stocks-Factors to watch on August 4

Battery electric vehicle registrations in Britain jumped 49% in July from a year earlier, taking more than a quarter of the new car market and running ahead of the zero-emission vehicle mandate path for a second month, New AutoMotive data showed.
Oil prices rebounded 1%, gold nudged higher, and copper prices rose.

- BP: BP BP.L posted a second-quarter underlying replacement cost profit, its version of net income, of $5.73 billion.
- Smith+Nephew: Smith+Nephew SN.L cut its full-year revenue growth forecast.
- Travis Perkins: Travis Perkins TPK.L reported a 6.3% rise in half-year adjusted operating profit.
- Domino's Pizza: Domino's Pizza Group DOM.L reported a 3.6% rise in half-yearly underlying core profit.
- SIG: SIG SHI.L reported a 31% slump in first-half profit on Tuesday, hurt by lower demand in a weak construction market and rising costs.
- Metro Bank: Metro Bank MTRO.L reported a 34% jump in first-half profit.
- HSBC Holdings HSBA.L reported a 23% first-half profit surge that bettered expectations.
