Ukraine grain and oilseed forecast raised after favourable weather
DBA•Exports outlook and port risks
The association estimates potential exports in the 2026/27 season at almost 52 million tons. The wheat harvest is expected to reach 23.7 million tons, with exports reaching 18 million tons, it said.
However, Ukraine's capacity for grain exports has deteriorated significantly in recent weeks as Russia has stepped up strikes on Black Sea port infrastructure and hit civilian vessels, prompting ship owners to halt calls to ports.
Ukraine is a major European exporter of grain and oilseeds, with corn and wheat dominating the planted area. The country has exported 34.4 million tons of grain so far during the 2025/26 season.
In June, Ukraine said the 2026 grain harvest could total 60 million tons, almost the same as last year.
Forecast raised on favourable weather
KYIV, July 30 (Reuters) - Ukraine's 2026 grain and oilseed crop is expected to reach 84.6 million metric tons, the country's association of grain producers and exporters said on Thursday.
The forecast was increased by 1 million tons because of favourable weather conditions, the grain association's statement added.
