Ukraine's bonds slip for third day as Russian attacks, US tensions weigh
TLT•Ukraine's sovereign bonds fell for a third day, with the 2036 maturity down nearly one cent to 50.89 cents on the dollar as Russian attacks continued despite an announced energy ceasefire.
1. Bond prices fall
Ukraine's sovereign bonds slid as much as 0.9 cents on Wednesday. The 2029 and 2035 bonds, both with 4.5% coupons, were bid at 75.03 cents and 59.24 cents, after earlier touching their lowest levels since April.
2. Negative news weighs
Investors said continued attacks and limits on Starlink services in Ukraine were pressuring the bonds. U.S. President Donald Trump has called for Ukraine to replace President Volodymyr Zelenskiy and criticised Ukraine's attacks on Russian oil infrastructure after announcing a diesel supply deal with Russia.
