UniCredit entered a long-term strategic collaboration with Accenture and IBM to build a next-generation European banking technology platform.
The plan targets a new operating model combining mission-critical resilience with cloud, data, and AI capabilities across the group’s 13 European markets.
Accenture will acquire a majority stake from IBM in the joint venture that runs a significant part of UniCredit’s technology infrastructure.
IBM will provide modernized platforms including IBM Z, software, and consulting as part of a multi-year core systems upgrade program.
Transaction closing remains subject to customary conditions, including regulatory approvals and employee information and consultation processes.
