1. Acquisition Deal Details

Unilever's Wellbeing division agreed to purchase gummies supplement brand Grüns for $1.2bn, marking its first acquisition since combining its food operations with McCormick, which valued its food division at roughly $44.8bn. Chad Janis will remain CEO and Grüns will continue trading under its established name within Unilever's portfolio.

2. Grüns' Rapid Growth

Founded in 2023, Grüns surpassed $300m in revenue by its second anniversary and ships 10m gummies daily. The brand closed a $500m Series B in 2025 and distributes through direct channels as well as major US retailers including Amazon, Target, Walmart and Costco.

3. Strategic Fit for Unilever

The purchase advances Unilever’s shift toward premium, high-growth wellness categories and strengthens its US market position. It complements existing supplement offerings such as Olly, SmartyPants and Onnit, leveraging Unilever’s scale in beauty and wellbeing.

4. Outlook and Integration

Integration plans include leveraging Unilever’s global marketing and distribution to accelerate Grüns’ expansion in new markets. Continued investment in R&D and support from Unilever Ventures could drive future product innovations and boost daily consumption habits worldwide.
