UPS to hire 100,000 temporary workers for holiday season
UPS•UPS said it would hire 100,000 seasonal employees across the U.S. for the holiday season, after hiring 125,000 holiday workers in 2024.
1. Seasonal hiring plans
UPS said the seasonal employees will help sort, move and deliver packages during the holiday rush. Daily parcel volumes tend to double during the busiest period for delivery companies, from late November to early January.
2. Prior workforce plans
UPS hired 125,000 holiday-season staff in 2024 but did not provide a comparable number for last year. In January, the company said it would cut up to 30,000 operational jobs and close 24 facilities in 2026 as it scales down shipments for its largest customer, Amazon, and shifts toward more profitable shipments.
