US energy secretary says Venezuelan oil output will reach 1.5 million barrels a day by next year

WASHINGTON, Sept. 2 (Reuters) - U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright said in a CNBC interview on Wednesday that he thinks Venezuela will produce more than 1.5 million barrels of oil per day by the first half of next year and he is confident that Venezuelan oil can be exchanged to re-fill the U.S. strategic petroleum reserve.
