U.S. Explorers Including Energy Fuels Eye Nevada Tungsten Targets After Drone Survey
UUUU•Energy Fuels Inc. is among five explorers highlighted in the U.S. critical-minerals push after China tightened tungsten export controls. On June 17, Western Star’s first high-resolution UAV magnetic survey over Nevada’s Rowland property identified multiple magnetic lineaments and intrusive-carbonate contacts coinciding with historic tungsten skarn workings.
1. Critical U.S. Tungsten Supply Gap
China controls over 80% of global tungsten mining and processing, triggering U.S. concerns as defense-procurement rules effective in 2027 will bar certain Chinese tungsten. Prices have risen sharply, prompting federal and private efforts to secure domestic or allied sources.
2. Western Star’s Nevada Geophysical Mapping
On June 17, Western Star Resources flew a high-resolution UAV magnetic survey across the Rowland Tungsten Property in Elko County, Nevada. The survey identified northeast-southwest magnetic lineaments and intrusive-carbonate contacts aligning with past workings and suggesting untested skarn horizons.
3. Outlook for Energy Fuels Inc. and Peers
Energy Fuels Inc. joins Western Star, Almonty, Guardian, and EQ Resources as part of a strategic drive to redevelop U.S. tungsten assets. Investors will watch upcoming soil geochemistry assays and planned Phase 2 drill targeting to gauge the pace of domestic supply development.
