Vizion analysis showed US import bookings fell 64% week over week from April 1-8, 2025, as new tariffs took hold. Global bookings fell to 1.09 million twenty-foot equivalent units from more than 2.1 million during March 24-31.
2. May import figures
US container imports in May declined 9.7% from April, while shipments from China fell 20.8%. The Port of Los Angeles reported its lowest monthly volume in more than two years for May.
