U.S. stocks on the move: Synopsys, Cboe, GameStop
SPY•Synopsys rose on a chip-design licensing deal with Amazon valued at more than $1 billion, Cboe shares rose on plans for event-driven products, and GameStop gained after its CEO bought another $10.5 million of stock. Major U.S. indexes also advanced.
1. Indexes advance
Wall Street’s main indexes gained as softer-than-anticipated inflation buoyed hopes that the Federal Reserve might not hike rates as soon as next month. At 11:30 EDT, the Dow was up 0.08%, the S&P 500 gained 0.59% and the Nasdaq rose 0.98%.
