US to take lead in probe into Ryanair Boeing 737 flight over Greece
BA•US takes lead in Ryanair Boeing 737 investigation
The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board said Thursday it will take lead into the investigation of a Ryanair RYA.I Boeing 737 over Greece after a piece of engine broke off and smashed a window and partially sucked a passenger out of the plane.
The NTSB said Greece had delegated the investigation to the agency. The Boeing 737 NG flight lost pressure shortly after takeoff from Thessaloniki in Greece on Friday, forcing the aircraft to return and make an emergency landing and raising concerns about engine issues on two prior Southwest Airlines 737 NG flights.
