Vaalco Energy’s Gabon Well Hits 2,000 BOPD; Secures 60% Kossipo Stake
Vaalco Energy’s Etame 15H-ST well in Gabon began production at ~2,000 BOPD with a 38% water cut in Gamba sands. The company secured a 60% working interest in the Kossipo field in Côte d’Ivoire with 102 MMBOE of 2C resources and targets an FDP by H2 2026.
1. Gabon Drilling Program
Vaalco Energy drilled, completed and placed the Etame 15H-ST development well on production in the 1V block, achieving stabilized flows of ~2,000 BOPD at a 38% water cut in high-quality Gamba sands. The rig has spudded the West Etame (ET-14P) exploration well, which carries a 57% geological success probability and is expected to reach the target zone by mid-March.
2. Côte d’Ivoire Kossipo Operations
Vaalco was confirmed operator of the Kossipo field with a 60% working interest alongside PetroCI’s 40% stake. Estimated gross 2C resources total 102 MMBOE and the field development plan is slated for H2 2026, while the Baobab FPSO is scheduled to return by late March to commence Q2 2026 production.
3. Production Growth Outlook
The combined Gabon drilling campaign and Côte d’Ivoire development underpin Vaalco’s goal of 225% organic production growth by 2030, positioning the company for significant reserve additions and value creation.
