Vail Resorts Eliminates $50 Epic Gear Fee, Rolls Premium Rentals at 12 Resorts

Vail Resorts will integrate My Epic Gear features into Demo rentals at 12 resorts starting 2026/27, allowing guests to select specific ski or snowboard models online and access BOA® boots and Step On® bindings without the $50 membership fee. Epic Pass holders save 20% on rentals next season.

1. Multi-Year Rental Transformation

Vail Resorts is rolling out a multi-year roadmap to integrate My Epic Gear features into traditional Demo rentals across its mountain destinations. All skiers and riders will be able to choose specific Sport, Performance, and Demo gear models online before arrival, with expanded options and premium technologies such as BOA® ski boots and Step On® bindings.

2. 2026/27 Demo Rental Enhancements

Beginning winter 2026/27, Demo rentals at 12 participating resorts will be rebranded My Epic Gear and remove the $50 seasonal membership fee. Guests can select from over 60 ski and snowboard models from brands including Salomon, Burton, and Rossignol via a simplified digital booking platform, and choose in-store pickup or slopeside delivery.

3. Benefits for Epic Pass Holders

Epic Pass holders for the 2026/27 season will receive a 20% discount on all rentals under the new program. Personalized profiles will archive past rentals and favorite gear to streamline future bookings and reduce wait times with enhanced pick-up and fulfillment options.
