Venture Global Extends LNG Supply Deal 20 Years, Doubles Volumes to 1 Mtpa
VG•Venture Global and Atlantic-SEE LNG Trade extended their US LNG sales agreement by 20 years from 2030, doubling Atlantic-SEE’s minimum annual purchases to one million tonnes per annum. The deal follows Venture Global’s investment in regasification capacity supplying 25% of Greece’s Alexandroupolis terminal.
1. Deal Extension and Volume Increase
Venture Global and Atlantic-SEE LNG Trade have expanded their sales and purchase agreement for US LNG, extending the term to 20 years starting in 2030 and increasing Atlantic-SEE’s minimum annual purchase from 500,000 tonnes to one million tonnes per annum.
2. Regasification Capacity Investment
The expanded agreement complements Venture Global’s investment in regasification capacity at the Alexandroupolis LNG import terminal in Greece, where their infrastructure now accounts for roughly 25% of the terminal’s total throughput.
3. Strategic Implications for Europe
This partnership strengthens the south–north Vertical Corridor, creating a new route to supply US LNG into central and eastern Europe and positioning Greece as a key transatlantic energy hub.
4. Company Portfolio and Growth Outlook
Venture Global currently operates over 100 million tonnes per annum of LNG capacity across facilities in production, construction and development, solidifying its status as a leading US LNG exporter.
