Veraxa Biotech names Christoph Erkel chief scientific officer, succeeding Rick Austin

Veraxa Biotech named Christoph Erkel chief scientific officer, effective immediately, to drive development of its BiTAC platform and oncology pipeline.
Erkel was previously vice president of R&D. His background includes 20 years in antibody therapeutics spanning discovery through IND submission.
He previously led immuno-oncology programs at MorphoSys, including conditionally active T-cell engagers, following roles at Sloning BioTechnology.
Rick Austin will exit the company following a transition period.
