George Burdette, CFO since October 2024, succeeded Ernie Miller as CEO while continuing to serve as CFO; Miller will remain with the company as a senior advisor. The board highlighted Burdette’s involvement in financial strategy and restructuring as key to advancing the company’s capital-lite technology deployment.
2. Strategic Alternatives Review
Verde has retained Roth Capital Partners to conduct a structured review of strategic alternatives, which may include a sale, merger, asset divestiture, licensing arrangement or capital raise. No binding agreements have been signed and no timetable has been set for the conclusion of this review.
3. Executive Background
Burdette brings over 20 years of financial and operational leadership, having led more than $8 billion in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and financings across renewable fuels, fertilizer and energy infrastructure sectors. His prior roles include CFO of Arbor Renewable Gas and Itafos, and head of project finance at First Solar.
