Verizon waived domestic call, text and data charges for consumer and small-business customers in Hawaiʻi from Sept. 26 to Oct. 7, 2026, as it prepared for Tropical Storm Nolo.

1. Storm preparations

Verizon raised its network contingency posture, topped off generator fuel reserves and staged portable backup power, satellite and mobile network equipment. The company also planned automatic credits for any overages already billed and said additional response personnel would move to the Big Island.
