Vertex Pharmaceuticals publishes presentation on kidney disease research
VRTX•Vertex Pharmaceuticals published a presentation outlining kidney drug trial results and development milestones. Povetacicept reduced proteinuria by 52% at Week 36 in a Phase 3 interim analysis, with a November 30 PDUFA target date for IgA nephropathy.
1. Povetacicept trial results
In the Phase 3 RAINIER interim analysis, povetacicept reduced proteinuria by 52% at Week 36; the placebo-adjusted reduction was 49.8%. Serious adverse events occurred in 3% of povetacicept recipients and 4.3% of placebo recipients.
2. Development milestones
A November 30 PDUFA target date is set for povetacicept in IgA nephropathy. Vertex said its pivotal AMPLITUDE trial of inaxaplin is fully enrolled, with interim analysis data expected in early 2027.
