Vertiv, Generate Capital Set Up Financing-Backed BYOP&C for Grid-Constrained Data Centers
Vertiv will combine its converged power train and thermal chain infrastructure with Generate Capital’s financing and asset ownership model to accelerate on-site data center capacity deployment in grid-constrained North American markets. Offers include reciprocating engines, turbines, fuel cells, integrated cooling and battery storage for faster capacity and grid transition optionality.
1. Collaboration Overview
Vertiv and Generate Capital have formed a strategic collaboration to deliver Bring Your Own Power & Cooling (BYOP&C) solutions, combining Vertiv's power train, thermal chain and services capabilities with Generate’s financing, asset ownership and operational expertise for U.S. data centers.
2. Integrated Technical and Financing Model
Vertiv will supply modular, fully converged infrastructure including reciprocating engines, turbines, fuel cells, pre-engineered cooling systems and battery storage, while Generate Capital provides project financing, asset ownership, operations and maintenance under flexible commercial structures.
3. Customer Benefits
The integrated model promises accelerated time-to-capacity through pre-engineered building blocks, capital-light deployment by reducing or eliminating upfront investments, optional transition to utility power when available, and sustained resiliency via on-site generation.
4. Deployment Focus
Initial deployments will target North American markets with grid constraints, offering an end-to-end path to on-site power deployment now while preserving long-term optionality for utility interconnection and improved project execution confidence.
