Viasat Awarded PTS-G SATCOM Contract Under $4B Program, Adds Board Directors
Viasat secured one of five initial contracts under the U.S. Space Force’s Protected Tactical SATCOM-Global program, a $4 billion IDIQ for anti-jam tactical communications. Viasat, a global satellite communications provider with approximately $4.56 billion in annual revenue, was named one of five initial contractors under the U.S. Space Force’s Protected Tactical SATCOM-Global (PTS-G) program. The IDIQ carries a total ceiling of $4 billion to supply resilient, anti-jam tactical communications solutions for ground and mobile forces.
2. Cooperation with Carronade and Governance Updates
On May 7, Viasat entered a cooperation agreement with activist investor Carronade Capital Management, resulting in the appointment of two new independent directors to its Board’s Strategic Review Committee. This governance move is intended to enhance strategic oversight and accelerate evaluation of operational improvements and capital allocation.
