VIAVI Launches Industry-First GPU-Free UET Validation for Scalable AI Fabrics
VIAV•VIAVI Solutions launched the industry's first Ultra Ethernet Transport validation solution for AI fabrics, offering GPU-free, full-fidelity traffic emulation including ROD/RUD, packet trimming, congestion control and dynamic multipathing. The platform lets hyperscalers, cloud and network equipment vendors validate large-scale AI back-end networks cost-efficiently and accelerate high-speed AI data center deployments.
1. Product Launch and Features
VIAVI unveiled its Ultra Ethernet Transport validation solution for AI fabrics, integrated within VIAVI TestCenter. The GPU-free platform emulates realistic, stateful AI traffic patterns at scale, supporting features such as reliable ordered/unordered delivery, packet trimming, congestion control and dynamic multipathing to validate next-generation AI back-end networks.
2. Technical Advantages
By eliminating the need for dedicated GPU infrastructure, the UET solution offers full-fidelity emulation of collective communications and large language model flows with comprehensive load-balancing validation, including ECMP, packet spraying and flowlet switching. It leverages the Ultra Ethernet Stack 1.0 protocol to accelerate testing of scale-out and scale-up AI data center fabrics.
3. Target Markets and Partnerships
The solution targets hyperscalers, cloud and neocloud providers, and network equipment manufacturers seeking to deploy Ultra Ethernet as a primary AI transport. Collaboration with major switching vendors demonstrates interoperability, using platforms such as the Juniper QFX5240 with enhanced transport features for high-performance AI networking.
4. Growth Outlook
The new validation offering positions VIAVI to capitalize on the expanding AI data center market by enabling faster, more cost-effective network deployments. Customers can reduce validation complexity and costs, potentially driving increased adoption of VIAVI’s test and measurement products across AI and HPC infrastructure projects.
