Viavi Solutions Exits SmallCap 600, Joins MidCap 400 in June Rebalance
VIAV•Viavi Solutions will exit the S&P SmallCap 600 and enter the S&P MidCap 400 on June 22, 2026, as part of the quarterly rebalance. The company joins four other Information Technology additions—Roku, Coeur Mining, Semtech and Sanmina—in the MidCap 400 reshuffle, underscoring its market-cap growth.
1. Quarterly Rebalance and Reclassification
Effective before the open on June 22, 2026, S&P Dow Jones Indices will remove Viavi Solutions from the S&P SmallCap 600 and add it to the S&P MidCap 400. This change reflects Viavi’s growth past the mid-cap market-cap threshold and aligns the index with its capitalization range.
2. Passive Fund Flows and Trading Impact
Inclusion in the MidCap 400 makes Viavi eligible for buy lists of mid-cap index funds and ETFs, potentially boosting passive inflows and daily trading volumes. Conversely, its removal from the SmallCap 600 will lead to outflows from small-cap funds, altering demand dynamics for the stock.
