Vir Biotechnology names Aziz Sawaf as CFO effective Oct. 5, 2026
VIR•Vir Biotechnology appointed Aziz Sawaf executive vice president and chief financial officer, effective Oct. 5, 2026; he will oversee finance, IT and investor relations.
1. CFO appointment
Sawaf joins from Theravance Biopharma, where he has served as CFO since 2023 and senior vice president of operations strategy since 2025. Earlier, he held finance leadership roles at Theravance and worked in R&D and commercial finance at Gilead Sciences.
