Visa Expands AI-Agent Payments Testing to 85+ Partners in APAC, LatAm
Visa has extended its Agentic Ready AI-agent payments testing programme to more than 85 partners across Asia Pacific and Latin America, following its UK and Europe launch. The initiative enables banks and payment partners to validate card enrolment, tokenisation, authentication, and transaction authorization in real-world environments and assess security controls ahead of agent-led commerce scale-up.
1. Agentic Ready Expansion
Visa has rolled out its Agentic Ready programme to over 85 issuing banks and payment partners across Asia Pacific and Latin America, building on its initial launch in the UK and Europe. The move positions Visa to lead in AI-driven agent-initiated commerce by covering key global markets.
2. Testing Capabilities and Readiness
Participants can conduct live-card tests with real merchants to validate core payment flows including card enrolment, tokenisation, authentication and transaction authorization. The programme also helps partners assess trust, security and control mechanisms as AI agents perform payment actions.
3. Stablecoin Settlement Pilot Growth
Separately, Visa added five blockchains—Arc, Base, Canton, Polygon and Tempo—to its global stablecoin settlement pilot, bringing the total supported networks to nine. This expansion offers issuers and acquirers more settlement options and reinforces Visa’s positioning in blockchain-based payments.
