Visa invests in Replit to embed Intelligent Commerce in workflows
V•Visa has made an undisclosed investment in Replit to integrate Visa Intelligent Commerce into its development platform, enabling developers to initiate secure transactions and accept payments within workflows. The partnership will explore adding Replit-built agents to Visa’s Trusted Agent Protocol and developing machine-to-machine, agent-driven payment experiences for high-frequency, low-value transactions.
1. Investment and Integration Plans
Visa has made an undisclosed equity investment in Replit as part of a collaboration to integrate Visa Intelligent Commerce into Replit’s development platform, allowing in-app secure transactions and payments within developer workflows.
2. Trusted Agent Protocol Exploration
The companies will explore registering Replit-built agents with Visa’s Trusted Agent Protocol registry, enabling these agents to be recognized as Visa-trusted and transact across merchant and service endpoints on behalf of consumers.
3. Agent-Driven Payment Experiences
Initial work includes developing machine-to-machine and agent-driven payment experiences designed for high-frequency, low-value transactions between services, illustrating a potential shift towards automated commerce interactions.
