VITAS Healthcare, Chemed’s hospice unit, will host a free, confidential Mother's Day Grief Helpline on Sunday, May 10. The service provides immediate access to trained bereavement specialists offering comfort, guidance and coping strategies, and is open from 8 a.m.–11 p.m. ET by calling 844.218.4827.

For nearly 50 years VITAS has delivered end-of-life care, including bereavement support such as home visits, telephone counseling, grief support groups, memorial services and referrals to community therapists. In 2025 more than 38,000 VITAS hospice patients were mothers, highlighting the need for tailored holiday grief resources.
