VivoPower evaluated a competitive field of prospective AI tenants and selected a global AI industry leader as its preferred tenant based on commercial terms, financial strength, credit quality, operational alignment, and strategic fit. The selection focuses on a long-duration lease structure tailored to both parties’ expansion optionality.
The Mo i Rana site operates 41.5MW of AI compute capacity powered solely by renewable hydroelectric energy at costs below US$0.05/kWh. The data center has been fully commissioned and holds permits for an additional 40MW, enabling potential capacity growth to over 80MW within 18–24 months pending regulatory approval.
Final legal documentation is underway, with material lease terms and tenant identity expected to be disclosed upon closing. Parallel negotiations target further strategic arrangements across VivoPower’s development pipeline, which could deepen the partnership across multiple jurisdictions beyond the Mo i Rana facility.
