Vogenx initiated EMERGE, a randomized, placebo-controlled Phase 2b trial testing mizagliflozin for post-bariatric hypoglycemia, which the company says has no FDA-approved treatments. The study will enroll approximately 36 adults at about 10 U.S. sites, who will receive mizagliflozin or placebo for 28 days.
2. Study aims
The trial will assess safety and reductions in hypoglycemic episodes. Earlier clinical studies showed fewer serious hypoglycemic events; EMERGE will test those findings in a larger, parallel-group setting.
