Wärtsilä supplies ammonia-capable auxiliary engines for two midsize gas carriers to cut emissions

NVGS•Wärtsilä has won orders to supply Wärtsilä 25 Ammonia auxiliary engines for two new 51,350 m3 LPG/liquid ammonia carriers.
The package includes SCR NOx reduction and a gas valve unit, targeting lower emissions and compliance with tighter environmental standards.
The vessels will be owned by Navigator Amon Shipping, a Navigator Gas-Amon Maritime joint venture, with construction at Nantong CIMC SOE.
Orders were booked in Q2 2026 for engines, SCR and GVU; the controllable pitch propulsion system was booked in Q3 2026.
Equipment deliveries to the yard are scheduled to start in June 2027.
