Wall St opens lower as AI stocks decline, oil prices rise
SPY•Wall Street’s main indexes opened lower as AI-linked stocks weakened and oil prices rebounded, with the Dow down 0.01%, the S&P 500 down 0.15% and the Nasdaq down 0.37%.
1. Indexes open lower
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 6.8 points, or 0.01%, to 51,959.21 at the open. The S&P 500 fell 11.7 points, or 0.15%, to 7,679.01, while the Nasdaq Composite dropped 98 points, or 0.37%, to 26,332.921. Investors were bracing for major corporate earnings reports this week.
