Walmart Launches Telehealth Platform with $15 Discount, Cuts Prices on 1,000+ Wellness Items
Walmart launched Better Care Services, a healthcare platform offering instant urgent care and behavioral health telehealth via third-party providers and LillyDirect with a $15 discount through Jan. 15 and free delivery for Walmart+. It also rolled back prices on over 1,000 wellness essentials including food, supplements, OTC and fitness products.
1. Mills by Millie Bobby Brown Fashion Line Launch
On January 9, Walmart debuted Mills by Millie Bobby Brown, a teen and young women’s apparel collection created in partnership with Delta Galil USA. The assortment spans ready-to-wear, sleepwear and intimates, featuring 30 styles at launch, including floral-appliqué dresses, wide-leg jeans and matching bralette sets. Price points start at $10.50 for intimates and top out at $26.50 for denim. The line is available on Walmart.com and in 750 stores nationwide, bringing actress Millie Bobby Brown’s design vision to an estimated audience of 270 million weekly shoppers.
2. Introduction of Better Care Services Digital Platform
Walmart has rolled out Better Care Services, a one-stop digital healthcare destination offering same-day telehealth consultations with third-party urgent care and behavioral health providers, plus access to LillyDirect prescriptions. Starting January 15, customers receive a $15 service discount; Walmart+ members enjoy free delivery. Complementary features include an AI-powered Nutrition Hub with personalized meal recommendations and price rollbacks on over 1,000 wellness items, spanning supplements, fitness gear and specialty diet foods. The initiative will be supported by 4,600 pharmacy-hosted Wellness Events this month, where free screenings and low-cost immunizations will be offered.
3. Board Appointment of Shishir Mehrotra
Walmart announced the appointment of Shishir Mehrotra, CEO of Superhuman and former YouTube Chief Technology Officer, to its Board of Directors. Effective immediately, Mehrotra joins the Compensation and Management Development Committee and the Technology and eCommerce Committee. He brings over 25 years of experience scaling global platforms, including co-founding Coda and overseeing product at YouTube. Walmart chairman Greg Penner highlighted that Mehrotra’s deep technical and product expertise will accelerate the retailer’s strategic push into AI-driven customer experiences.
