1. Neighborhood Demographics and Home-Price Trends

An analysis of 32,000 grocery store openings over five decades shows ZIP codes with new Walmart outlets average a 23% college graduation rate, median household income of $49,000 and median home values of $144,000. Home-price growth in these areas trails the national average by 4% in the three years after a store opening.

2. Sustainable Materials Partnership with Rubi

Walmart joined climate-tech startup Rubi’s network following its $7.5 million funding round and $60 million in multiyear off-take term sheets. Rubi’s enzyme-driven technology converts captured carbon into cellulose polymers for textiles and packaging, aiming to reduce supply-chain emissions and capital costs.
