Wendy's down after withdrawing 2026 forecasts, halving dividend

Wendy's posted a second-quarter same-restaurant sales decline of 6.3% from a year earlier, compared with analysts' expectations of a 4.3% fall, according to data compiled by LSEG.
Quarterly adjusted earnings per share came in at 18 cents, beating expectations by 2 cents, but fell about 38% from a year earlier.
As of the last close, the stock was down about 11% year to date.
Shares fall after forecast withdrawal and dividend cut
Shares of restaurant chain Wendy's WEN.O were down about 3% at $7.18 in premarket trading after the company withdrew its 2026 forecasts, saying new leadership is assessing business opportunities to formulate a comprehensive turnaround plan.
The company also announced it is halving its dividend to an annualized rate of 28 cents per share.
