WeRide Partners with Geely to Add 2,000 Robotaxis, Fleet Exceeds 2,600
WeRide expanded its partnership with Geely’s Zhejiang Farizon to deliver 2,000 next-gen Robotaxi GXR vehicles by 2026, boosting its fleet to over 2,600 units this year. The stock is trading well below key moving averages after a 60% year-over-year slide and signals bearish momentum.
1. Partnership Expansion
WeRide expanded its collaboration with Geely’s Zhejiang Farizon New Energy Commercial Vehicle Group to produce 2,000 upgraded Robotaxi GXR vehicles. These purpose-built units are slated to roll off the production line in the third quarter of 2026, marking a significant acceleration of global robotaxi commercialization.
2. Accelerating Fleet Growth
As of January 2026, WeRide’s global robotaxi fleet stood at 1,023 vehicles, and the addition of the new GXRs will push that total above 2,600 units this year. Management targets deployment of tens of thousands of robotaxis by 2030 to secure a leading position in autonomous mobility.
3. Weak Technical Signals and Earnings Outlook
Shares have declined 60% over the past 12 months and trade below both the 20-day and 200-day moving averages, with an RSI of 31.9 and a bearish MACD histogram underscoring technical weakness. WeRide will report earnings on March 23, 2026, with analysts forecasting a $0.25 per-share loss on $22.5 million in revenue and average price targets near $17.
