Withdrawal pressure at Ares flagship credit fund eases as sector cools
ARES•Investors sought to redeem 13.1% of shares in Ares Strategic Income Fund in the third quarter, down from 14.4% in the previous quarter. The $22.7 billion fund capped withdrawals at 5% of shares.
1. Redemption requests ease
Ares Management’s flagship private credit fund saw withdrawal requests ease slightly in its third-quarter tender offer. The fund said new withdrawal demands amounted to 3% of its net asset value, while much of the pressure came from investors resubmitting unfulfilled requests.
2. Investors recover capital
An investor who first requested a repurchase in the first quarter of 2026 and resubmitted the unfulfilled amount in the second and third quarters is expected to have received nearly 80% of the originally requested capital, the fund said. BlackRock and Apollo Global Management also reported lower redemption requests at their private credit funds earlier this month.
