Wizz Air CEO says no interest in AirBaltic, other carriers at risk
JETS•Wizz Air sees little opportunity from airBaltic bankruptcy
Budget carrier Wizz Air sees few if any opportunities from the bankruptcy of airBaltic and expects a wider shakeout of other European airlines that were unable to hedge against high oil prices, CEO Jozsef Varadi told Reuters on Monday.
The oil price spike "sucks up liquidity very quickly from the industry, and especially those airlines which are unhedged," he said on the sidelines of the ISTAT Europe conference. "I think they will be in a very difficult situation."
