Woodside Energy's first-half profit rises 7%
WDS•Half-year profit rises on higher oil prices and demand
Aug. 25 (Reuters) - Woodside Energy WDS.AX reported a 7% rise in half-year profit on Tuesday, driven by a surge in oil prices from the conflict in the Middle East and an increase in customer demand for products.
The Australian oil and gas producer posted an underlying net profit after tax of $1.33 billion for the six months ended June 30, up from $1.25 billion a year earlier and slightly ahead of Visible Alpha's consensus estimate of $1.32 billion.
