Workday Embeds Sana Agent into Gemini Enterprise, Sets Gemini as Default AI Model
WDAY•Workday has embedded its Sana Self-Service Agent into Google Cloud’s Gemini Enterprise, allowing employees to handle HR and finance tasks like time-off checks and expense policy queries. Gemini is now Sana’s default AI model; zero-copy access between Workday Data Cloud and Google Cloud Lakehouse enables secure real-time analytics.
1. Expanded Strategic Partnership
Workday and Google Cloud have expanded their strategic partnership to integrate the Sana Self-Service Agent into Google Cloud’s enterprise-ready agent platform. The collaboration aims to create a unified AI foundation for HR and finance workflows with built-in governance and security.
2. AI Agent Integration
The Sana Self-Service Agent is now embedded directly within Gemini Enterprise, allowing employees to handle tasks such as time-off checks and expense policy queries in a conversational AI interface. Gemini has been designated as the default AI model for Sana, delivering consistent multilingual support and advanced reasoning.
3. Data Governance and Security
A zero-copy data architecture connects Workday Data Cloud with Google Cloud Lakehouse, enabling real-time analysis without duplicating data and ensuring strict adherence to existing security permissions and business rules. This seamless data linkage accelerates insights into HR metrics and financial risks.
4. Employee and Manager Workflows
Employees can now request payslips, review tax withholdings, and managers can approve timesheets or initiate performance reviews without leaving the AI environment. The integration is available now on Google Cloud’s Agent Marketplace, with additional agents scheduled for release later this year.
