TRISO-X President Joel Duling will retire from full-time leadership on Nov. 20, 2026, and remain part time as a senior advisor to X-energy CEO J. Clay Sell.

1. Leadership transition

TRISO-X Vice President and Chief of Staff Jason Hatfield will take interim leadership while X-energy evaluates candidates for a permanent successor. Global COO Dragan Popovic will oversee integration of construction for the TX-1 TRISO fuel fabrication facility in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
