Xos Launches 2.5MWh Containerized Power Hub to Energize Sites in Days
XOS•Xos unveiled its 2.5MWh Power Hub, a fully integrated energy storage system delivering megawatt-scale power within days instead of waiting three to seven years for grid interconnection. It builds on over 250MWh of North American deployments and integrates with generators to boost efficiency and cut emissions.
1. Product Launch and Purpose
Xos introduced its 2.5MWh Power Hub series as a factory-integrated, behind-the-meter energy storage solution designed to bypass three-to-seven-year grid interconnection delays. The containerized system arrives ready to plug in, providing data centers, industrial sites and mission-critical facilities with immediate megawatt-scale backup and primary power.
2. Technical Specifications
The flagship Power Hub 2500 ships inside a standard intermodal container and scales from 1.2MWh to 4MWh through modular additions. Each unit includes onboard power conversion, microgrid controls and generator dispatch logic, offering 480V three-phase output without separate controllers or integration fees.
3. Proven Deployment and Market Context
This product leverages the architecture behind more than 250MWh of Xos energy storage already in commercial service across North America, including over 1,400 mobile charging assets. It addresses grid bottlenecks that cost PJM-region consumers $14.7 billion in 2025 capacity auctions and meets rising AI-driven data center power demands projected to double by 2030.
