Xos Unveils 2.5 MWh Power Hub Series, Shares Surge Over 200%
XOS•Xos shares tripled in premarket trading and surged 221% after hours following the launch of its new Power Hub energy storage systems. The mobile units, offered in three capacity variants including a 2.5 MWh model, can deploy within days without a microgrid controller for data centers and industrial sites.
1. Stock Surges After Product Launch
Xos shares climbed nearly 200% in premarket trading and surged 221% in the after-hours session, marking the top percentage gain among U.S. equities. The rally pushed the stock toward a near two-year high.
2. Power Hub Series Details
The Power Hub series comprises three mobile energy storage units, with capacities up to 2.5 MWh, built on Xos’s mobile EV charging platform technology. Each unit integrates fuel-fired generation to enhance efficiency and cleaner kilowatt-hour production compared to conventional systems.
3. Deployment and Applications
Units arrive on a standard truck and can be fully operational in days without requiring a microgrid controller. The solution targets data centers and industrial sites lacking reliable grid access by providing deployable megawatt-scale power.
4. CEO’s Strategic Vision
CEO Dakota Semler designed the Power Hub to bypass grid dependencies and improve industrial energy delivery. He emphasized the system’s ability to deliver power where and when it’s needed, positioning it as a deployable power plant rather than a traditional battery.
